Things I Love Thursday-I Wanna Dance!

I LOVE reality TV dance competitions. I truly cannot get enough of America's Best Dance Crew and So You Think You Can Dance. How could these two shows get any better? Simple, take contestants from So You Think You Can Dance season 3 and have them form a crew to compete on America's Best Dance Crew season 3. Maybe my subconscious is telling me that I should've taken dance instead of devoting my childhood years to gymnastics. Sigh, I'll just have to live vicariously through these guys.

Let's Get Physical

The past few Saturdays, Josh and I have been hitting the gym at Josh's work. While I am constantly nervous about being outed and booted from the premises since I'm not an employee, I simply cannot resist the lure of a gym with empty ellipticals as far as the eye can see. If you recall, I've had a little trouble with my own gym. Therefore, I'm going against my rule-abiding ways and savoring every second of this freedom...don't turn me in!

Obviously, these are not ellipticals, but without a camera, I've turned to Microsoft Clip Art to help me illustrate my point.

Things I Love Thursday-South Beach

I LOVE South Beach Diet's High Protein Cinnamon Raisin Cereal Bars. Every day, for the past six months or so, I've been grabbing one of these nutritious and delicious bars on my way to work. It's really the perfect way to start a morning (and a great way for me to justify all the other junk food I eat during the rest of the day).

You can Find us at Gateway

Josh and I have spent our past two Saturdays at Gateway Market, a local grocer that carries locally grown and international gourmet food. This establishment tends to attracts foodies, trendy hipsters, middle-aged hippies and apparently, my husband.

I have to say though that I was quite pleased with our shopping experience. Last Saturday, Gateway Market's bakery helped us provide the Salgados with some congratulatory cookies and this Saturday, they took care of Valentine's Day dinner for us. For the low, low price of $28.99, they sent us home with: two steaks, two King Crab legs, two twice baked potatoes, broccolini, and a garden salad. The steak was excellent, the crab legs hit the spot, the potato was fabulous, (of course), the broccolini was fresh, (I told Josh it tasted "green"), and the garden salad was good, (according to Josh; naturally, I didn't touch the thing). Nice job, Gateway!

Things I Love Thursday-"let's get rich and give everybody nice sweaters..."

I LOVE Ingrid Michaelson. Last summer we went to 80-35 with BJ and Jill and at first I was skeptical about going both days since it was little pricey. However, Jill was super excited about seeing up and comer Ingrid Michaelson. I thought Ms. Michaelson put on a pretty good show at the time but I was far too preoccupied with getting my gyro fix to truly enjoy her music. Now six months later, I'm constantly listening to her on Pandora and I bought both of her CDs on iTunes.

I'm particularly in love with the song that she does with Jason Mraz on her "Be OK" CD.

A belated thank you to Jill for unknowingly introducing me to my new favorite CD six months ago.

My Dog Ate My Camera

Remember this mugshot? Looks like we've got ourselves a repeat offender.

I think the title of the post says it all. Suds has officially proven he is a danger to all inanimate objects in our house and is now banished to his kennel in the dungeon-like room that we call our office.

Welcome to the World, Benjamin!

I forgot my camera so I stole these pics from Andrew and Annie.

Our weekend started off with a bang when Andrew and Annie called on Friday afternoon after being admitted to the hospital to tell us it was "go time". A few reruns of Friends and Seinfeld and one cop drama movie later, their son Benjamin Michael and (all his hair!) made his big debut. Congratulations, Mama and Papa Salgado!

Josh wouldn't hold little Benny boy, saying that he wasn't going to be comfortable holding a baby until it was his.

Things I Love Thursday-Robin Sparkles

I LOVE this music video from "How I Met Your Mother". Who can resist the Canadian pop stylings of Robin Sparkles?

Superbowl Memories (or lack thereof)

Josh and I are creating a big photo collage of good times with good friends for our basement. At our Superbowl party, I had the brilliant idea of taking a big group picture to commemorate our official unveiling of the finished basement and our first party in said basement. I set the camera up and everything, but it wasn't until nearly all of our guests were out the door that I realized we still had to take the picture. Now we'll never have solid proof of who actually came to our first party. Luckily, we had a few stragglers at the end of the game and I was able to take a B team picture. You really can't have too many of those :)

Road Trip

Last weekend we had a little bit of a heat wave, what with it being 50 degrees and all. Given this unseasonably warm weather, Josh decided it was appropriate that we take a little road trip. We picked up Dean and Dawn, headed out on I-35 and made our way to...Ames, IA. Why Ames, you ask? Two words. Hickory Park. In my little world, there is no other valid reason for anyone to travel to this college town except to dine at Hickory Park. Cheese curds that are on par with the fair's fare, delicious sandwiches and burgers and ice cream, oh the ice cream! Want a sundae? Done. In the mood for a shake? No problem. Sundae with a side of pound cake? Absolutely!

Cheese curds. Looks like we got a little messy with the ranch.

Dean and Dawn got the kind of ice cream with pound cake.
